Meet Your SLP:
Ms. Rachel
Hi! I'm Ms. Rachel and for as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to be a speech-language pathologist enriching young minds to reach their full potential within a fun social setting.
I have over 12 years experience working across multiple settings ; however, my heart has always deeply enjoyed working with the pediatric population (including Early Intervention) and their families.
I earned my Bachelors of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from SUNY Cortland and earned my Masters of Science in Education from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. I am a dual certified SLP in NJ and NY and am nationally certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). In addition to my passion as a SLP serving my clients and their families I greatly enjoy spending quality time with my husband and four children outdoors, traveling and reading (along with enjoying excessive amounts of coffee).
Now, I get to teach YOUR child! I can't wait!

We want to get to know your family, so please invite your whole family to attend our free fun family events all year long: Meet ‘n Greet, Thanksgiving Food Drive, Christmas Party, and End of the Year Party. You are always welcome to volunteer in our program and/or at any of our events.

Our small groups of just 6 children allows your child to be comfortable and grow valuable friendships with the other students and SLP. Because conflict-resolution skills are super vital to learn at this age, we help your child work through their problems with other children. Pretty soon they’re using the same strategies and words we’ve taught them, all by themselves!

Your child will receive individualized instruction through our thorough assessments and curriculum. Our SLP will guide your child in the areas they need to improve, and challenge them when they’re ready for more. Our balance of SLP directed and child-initiated hands-on activities will help strengthen your whole child’s development: Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical.
#5: We keep your child healthy & safe!
Teaching children is a huge responsibility, and we take that responsibility seriously! Not only are we state licensed and CPR/1st Aid Certified, but our distinct policies and procedures regarding health and safety help to keep your child in a safe, clean environment. We’re constantly cleaning, washing hands, and monitoring all activities to prevent any accidents.

Your child will receive a different t-shirt for that year to wear on Spirit Days. We also save some of your child’s artwork for a special portfolio you get in June.
#8: We help you preserve memories!
We offer you the opportunity to keep memories of your child's language enrichment experience by enjoying group pictures of our various activities within the program. In addition, pictures and crafts will be sent home throughout the year.
Choose Your Enrichment Class:
You can choose from a selection of our classes to better accommodate your family’s schedule. Our program is offered 2 days/week (AM or PM)!
When should I call to register my child?
It’s never too early to call, so call as soon as you even think about registering, because our classes fill up ridiculously fast!
When does our program start? Can I enroll mid-year?
We have a 10-month program (Sept.-June). If we have spots available, you can enroll mid-year. Please call us to see if we have any spots available. Our program follows the Rockaway Township School District Calendar.
How old does my child need to be to attend?
Program classes are offered for children who are ages 2-5. The 2's class offered is for children who will turn 2 years old by May 1st. The 3-4 class offered is for children who will turn 3 years old by May 1st.
Does my child have to be potty trained?
For the 2's class, no the child does not need to be potty trained. For the 3's class, yes the child does need to be potty trained.
What is your teaching philosophy?
We follow a “whole child” philosophy where we work with you to improve your child’s Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical skills. Our curriculum is play based and consists of a balance between SLP-directed and child-initiated hands-on activities to accomplish these goals. Your child will learn to socialize, make friends, develop social and emotional skills, and be more than ready for Kindergarten!
Are there additional fees during the year?
No. Your registration fee covers all your child’s supplies and reserves a spot in our program. Your child will also receive at no extra cost: a free t-shirt to wear on Spirit Day with welcome bag.
What if my child has food restrictions?
No snacks will be offered during the program. However, you are more than welcome to bring in with your child a water bottle.
Is the registration fee refundable?
No.
How many students do you have per class?
We have the smallest class sizes in town so your child gets lots of 1-on-1 time. We only have 6 students per class.
